Bitcoin Cash Jumps 20% as CME Adds BCH and Uniswap Futures
CME Group said it will add Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on Oct. 19, subject to regulatory review. The move extends its crypto derivatives lineup beyond Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, and XRP futures that were added earlier in 2025, and it comes as the exchange’s crypto derivatives business reported $8.3 billion in average daily notional volume in the first half of 2026.
What this rests on
What it means
Each sentence links inside to the piece that supports it.
Traders and institutions that use CME’s crypto derivatives will see two more contracts added on Oct. 19 if the regulatory review is completed. That changes the set of instruments available on the exchange, with Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap joining a lineup that already included Bitcoin, Ether, Solana, and XRP futures.
Before this listing, CME’s crypto derivatives market did not include Bitcoin Cash or Uniswap futures, while Standard and Micro contracts remain part of how the exchange packages access. After Oct. 19, the practical difference is the addition of those two names to the existing menu, not a change in the fact that the contracts are still scheduled subject to review.
Market reaction
We track BTC, but we only have 1 price point in that window. The series is stored every half hour, so newer events will have it. Computing it from two points would not be a reaction, it would be a coincidence.
How the story was built
Every piece in order, with the time its news medium declares — if it is not believable we use ours and say so — and what it added to what was already known at that point. Arriving first is not the same as adding something.
Has this happened before?
Nothing comparable yet.
