Moody’s assigned Sky Protocol a B3 issuer rating with a stable outlook on October 7, 2026. That made Sky the first stablecoin protocol rated by Moody’s, and it also remained rated B- by S&P Global Ratings. Sky is the only stablecoin protocol formally rated by both Moody’s and S&P Global Ratings.

What it means
Institutional investors following USDS now have another major rating to look at, alongside the existing S&P assessment. That matters today because Sky now has two large-credit-agency ratings attached to the protocol, and the B3 grade is part of the same information set investors can use when comparing it with other issuers.
Before this, Sky had a rating from S&P but not from Moody’s, and the new action adds a second agency view without changing the fact that the outlook is stable. In practice, what changed is that Sky moved from one major formal assessment to two, while the protocol remains the only stablecoin protocol formally rated by both Moody’s and S&P Global Ratings.
Market reaction i
The move was larger before the first headline than after. That is an observation, not an explanation: the market also moves on things nobody publishes.
