Crypto projects apply for Anthropic’s new frontier AI security scanner
Anthropic launched OSS Scanner, an opt-in service for open-source projects that uses its strongest AI models to generate vulnerability reports without prior human review. Nethermind, ZEUS, and VirtEngine submitted enrollment requests as the service became available, and Anthropic said the reports may include incorrect, duplicated, or overstated findings.
What this rests on
What it means
Each sentence links inside to the piece that supports it.
Open-source project maintainers are the first people who have to deal with these reports, because the scanner sends them findings that still need validation and triage. That means teams watching tomorrow morning will see more automated vulnerability reports in their inboxes, but the final review step stays with the maintainers rather than the model.
In practice, the new service adds an automated reporting layer where there was not one before, and it does so without prior human review. What remains unchanged is that the findings are not automatically accepted as final, since Anthropic says they can be incorrect, duplicated, or overstated and still need human checking.
Market reaction
The move was larger before the first headline than after. That is an observation, not an explanation: the market also moves on things nobody publishes.
How the story was built
Every piece in order, with the time its news medium declares — if it is not believable we use ours and say so — and what it added to what was already known at that point. Arriving first is not the same as adding something.
