Zcash developers begin moving Tachyon code into faster private-payment software
Zcash developers released Udon, a first step that moves parts of Project Tachyon into Zakura Common, the software used to create and verify private transactions. The work is tied to a longer-term goal of more than 50,000 private payments a second, with the integration described as starting with faster cryptographic operations and recursive proof work.
What this rests on
What it means
Each sentence links inside to the piece that supports it.
Zcash users and people running the privacy transaction software are the ones most likely to notice this first, because Udon has been released into Zakura Common, which is used to create and verify private transactions. That means the software they interact with is already starting to absorb Tachyon work rather than waiting for a later release.
In practice, the change is that Tachyon work is now being integrated through Udon and begins with faster cryptographic operations inside Zakura Common. What stays the same for now is that the goal remains long term, with the text still describing an integration process rather than a finished jump to the 50,000 private payments a second target.

How the story was built
Every piece in order, with the time its news medium declares — if it is not believable we use ours and say so — and what it added to what was already known at that point. Arriving first is not the same as adding something.
