Cardano opened its public Dijkstra testnet to stake pool operators as node 11.2 moves toward a protocol version 12 upgrade. The test environment was restarted on Oct. 21 and is running Conway protocol version 11 on node 11.1.3, while the next hard fork is being tested with Leios and several other features.

Key claims & sources

✓
Intersect’s Oct. 22 Upgrade Bulletin #39 said DijkstraNet became publicly available to stake pool operators.
✓
Cardano’s next major hard fork is being tested with Leios, nested transactions, account enhancements, guard scripts, Plutus V4, and freely withdrawable staking rewards.
✓
Cardano opened the Dijkstra testnet to the public for stake pool operators ahead of the node 11.2 release and the planned move to protocol version 12 without Leios.
✓
The Dijkstra testnet was restarted on Oct. 21 and is currently running Conway protocol version 11 on node 11.1.3.

What it means

Stake pool operators can now run DijkstraNet nodes against proposed changes including nested transactions, account enhancements, guard scripts, Plutus V4 and freely withdrawable staking rewards, none of which exist on mainnet yet. They must update their node software to the test build, validate it against their own infrastructure, and flag bugs to Intersect before any of this is locked in. Developers get real operator feedback on contentious features like Leios before committing resources to ship them.

Splitting the upgrade so protocol version 12 ships without Leios first is a hedge: it lets Cardano move governance and scripting changes forward without waiting on a scaling protocol that has been in development for years. That is a reasonable sequencing choice, but it also means the throughput gains Leios promises stay untested on a live network for longer, and SPOs now carry the job of proving the simpler pieces work before the harder one gets its own trial.

The next concrete marker is the node 11.2 release itself, which is meant to carry protocol version 12 to the test network without Leios attached. Intersect's Upgrade Bulletins will show whether that release lands on schedule and whether SPO testing surfaces issues that delay it. A clean 11.2 rollout would set up a separate, later test phase for Leios; problems here would push the whole Dijkstra timeline back.

The move was larger before the first headline than after. That is an observation, not an explanation: the market also moves on things nobody publishes.
